Winter Wedding at Pelham House, Lewes
ELEGANT WHITE FLORALS AND BLACK TIE WEDDING
As a recommended supplier at Pelham House, I do get to be part of some truly wonderful days with them, Zara and Andy’s classic winter wedding at Pelham House was beyond elegant! Everything about Zara and Andy’s wedding totally reflected them as a couple, quiet elegance, soft romance, warm joy.
Andy and his groom party chose to wear black tie, which complimented Zara’s stunning Hollywood glamour style.
With beautiful white orchids and roses from Tony Dunn flowers, their day really shone with the most modern winter wedding style!
We were blessed with some of the last soft, golden light of winter for their portraits, crisp cold evening air for sparklers, with Christmas around the corner, you could just sense that winter magic at every turn.
GETTING READY
Zara got ready in the stunning honeymoon suite of Pelham House, a neutral and modern space with large windows for lots of lovely natural light was the perfect setting! Zara and her bridesmaids relaxed with champagne as they got ready for the day. Zara’s soft smokey eye really highlighted her gorgeous blue eyes, with soft Hollywood waves finishing her look.
THE CEREMONY
Zara was accompanied down the aisle by her father, Zara full of nervous excitement with her proud dad on her arm to guide her. The ceremony room was adorned with white roses and greenery, a classic winter colour palette. Andy’s twin brother was ring bearer, nervously presiding over the rings!
After exchanging vows, the smiles on their faces so evident of their happiness, they walked down the aisle hand in hand, to whoops and cheers from their loved ones.
CONFETTI
One of my all time favourite photos to grab at a wedding, is that moment just before the first confetti is thrown! You can just see the giddy anticipation, the complete joy of just getting married!
The winter sun was glorious, peaking out of the clouds just in time for Zara and Andy to greet their guests and start their reception.
THE PORTRAITS
With their guests bundled up in the warm of the art deco bar enjoying some fizz and canapes, we grabbed the last of the winter light for some relaxed couple portraits. Like a lot of my couples, Zara and Andy didn’t want to spend lots of time away from their guests, or to do anything too posed, music to my ears. It is so important you both feel relaxed and comfortable during your portraits, to allow you to have a breather away from well-meaning prying eyes, so that you can just be yourselves and enjoy some precious time together before the party starts.
THE RECEPTION
Pelham House is a Georgian manor house with an art-deco finish, and the Ballroom is the most perfect spot for dinner, speeches, and dancing! With chic long-tapered white candles, and floral centrepieces, styled to compliment the colour palette and vibe of the room, it just looked so stunning.
PARTY TIME!
Zara and Andy kicked off their party by cutting their sunning white cake with edible pearls and sugar-draft orchids to match Zara’s bouquet. We swiftly bundled everyone up into their coats and scarves for some sparklers, before heading back into the warm for their first dance and party time!
