Syon Park Wedding | Liane and Joanna

IVORY AND EMERALD inspired wedding AT SYON PARK

A couple walk together as they are photographed for their Syon Park wedding

Joanna and Liane celebrated their UK wedding with friends and family at Syon Park House and Gardens. Splitting their time between Hong Kong and the UK for work, this international jet-setting pair could not have put on a more glamorous but relaxed wedding if they tried!

With a couture designer dress for Liane and a bespoke suit for Joanna, their elegant styles complemented each other perfectly.

Syon Park is one of the most exclusive and stunning venues in London, with an historic glasshouse for the reception and Syon House for the ceremony with its courtyard, there was history and elegance everywhere you looked.

GETTING READY WITH LIANE AT SYON HOUSE

The east wing of the manor house set the scene for Liane and Joanna to get ready with their nearest and dearest.

As a style conscious photographer, let me tell you, I was in heaven with their details!
Liane chose a couture Galia Lahav gown, with intricate lace and a draped pearl back, complementing her look with a sweeping veil and shoes from Christian Louboutin. Liane was helped into her dress by her best friends, with that incredible pearl detail at the back taking centre stage.

Liane wanted to go for a ‘first look’ for her girls, after slowly descending the staircase, her girls turned around to see her in her dress for the first time. This really gives you the chance to have a moment with your loved ones before getting swept up in the wonderful whirlwind of your day. Even if they have seen you try on your dress, it really is a truly special moment to see all the little details come together on the day itself.

As the bridesmaids and Liane headed through the house to the ceremony, we took the opportunity for some quick bridal portraits in the library.

With that dramatic window lighting, the detail of the ceiling, it just worked perfectly.

GETTING READY WITH JOANNA

Joanna wore a bespoke emerald suit, with Gucci loafers, chic and sophisticated. Her mum and sister helped her get ready, making sure their button hole was just right, the shirt was pressed, and giving a reassuring hug! Joanna read a letter from Liane, a special ‘see you later’ message, before heading to the ceremony in the Great Hall to meet their guests.

THE CEREMONY IN THE GREAT HALL

The Great Hall at Syon House gives a truly stunning backdrop for a wedding ceremony, framed by grecian columns, this light and grand space was a true beauty to photograph.

Liane and Joanna opted for a personal and relaxed celebrant-led ceremony, with Aggie The Celebrant. They said personal vows, followed by the exchanging of rings. The joy shared between these two was undeniable, to finally be married and sharing their day with their loved ones.

THE RECEPTION

Following a bubble entrance to their elegant drink reception in the courtyard, the party moved to the grand conservatory, the most stunning historic glasshouse! A bubble entrance is a perfect conscious alternative to confetti, and looks just as joyful.

Prosecco, cocktails and music flowed as guests mingled, and Liane and Joanna spent some precious time with their loves ones.

ROMANTIC SUMMER WEDDING PHOTOGRAPHY AT SYON PARK

Liane and Joanna had some time just for them with the iconic Great Conservatory as the back-drop for their portraits while guests continued sipping champagne. Taking time just for the two of you away from the prying eyes of guests for a relaxed wander is the perfect way to capture natural and modern wedding portraits.

Liane was absolutely in love with her dress, so I wanted to emphasise the incredible detail within the design, as well as the stunning glasshouse itself as she and Joanna walked hand in hand.

THE GREAT CONSERVATORY

The most elegant space for a wedding breakfast, the light and airy glasshouse at Syon Park is just spectacular! The emerald and white florals were accompanied by floating candles to create a romantic and summertime vibe for dinner and the evening celebrations.

One thing I love to to do, is to take a few photos of you both in your reception space; especially when you have gone to so much effort to carefully choose your suppliers and bring your vision to life.

THE EVENING CELEBRATIONS

After dinner, the light slowly faded over Syon Park for speeches and dancing. Liane and Joanna chose to say a few words themselves, meaning so much to each other and their loved ones.

Under a canopy of stars and moonlight, the couple danced and giggled together, their guests joining in to party the night away. The glasshouse was lit-up, the jewel in the crown of Syon Park at night.

TESTIMONIAL

“Katie’s editorial style is timeless. After pouring over her portfolio, it was evident her storytelling style was going to be a great fit. We planned our wedding in three months, by some miracle she was available for our wedding, it was definitely meant to be!

Katie isn’t just a photographer, she ran the day effortlessly as an on-the-day co-ordinator who ensured things were as they should be.

I can not stress this enough: without her I am sure the day would not have gone as smoothly. Her experience really shines through, and put us all at ease while working efficiently through the photo checklist, leaving us to enjoy more time as a couple to soak it all in.

The photos we received are not only stunning, they capture emotions and tell stories of the day, capturing everything we may have missed.

We are so grateful for Katie’s expertise and are so happy that this set of photos becomes the first piece of our history together.”
