Old Marylebone Town Hall Wedding | Maribel and Jason
BLACK TIE WEDDING AT OLD MARYLEBONE TOWN HALL
GETTING READY AT THE LANDMARK, LONDON
Maribel prepared for her wedding to Jason at The Landmark, London with her sister, mum, and niece.
The Landmark is just down the road, making it the perfect place to get ready for your intimate wedding at Old Marylebone Town Hall.
Maribel chose chic and elegant details to accompany her stunning satin dress and Hollywood waves. Maribel decided to apply her own make-up, an absolute self-taught genius, choosing a soft smoky eye and fluttering lashes.
Her lovely father could not believe his eyes when he saw Maribel in her dress for the first time, such joy and delight on his face.
After some champagne and deep breaths, we walked down to Old Marylebone Town Hall to get married to her beloved Jason.
THE CEREMONY AT MARYLEBONE TOWN HALL
Maribel walked the short journey to the town hall with her parents, absolutely luminous with excitement. The drizzle held off for us, bringing a welcome breeze to the spring city air.
Jason welcomed their guests, comforting his slightly nervous nieces and nephew who were their flower girls, page boy, and ring bearer. When it was time for Maribel to walk down the aisle, both her parents accompanied and supported her as she finally got to marry her Jason. The moment they saw each other, all you could see were the biggest, sweetest smiles as they laughed together, taking it all in.
WHAT I LOVE ABOUT WEDDINGS AT THE OLD MARYLEBONE TOWN HALL
The staff really make your experience a happy and smooth one, they are all so kind and helpful, keeping things rolling like a well-oiled, beautiful machine! The registrars clearly love their job, and conduct the ceremonies with a true smile on their face, guiding couples through their vows.
CONFETTI
While Maribel and Jason took a moment to themselves, I gathered their family on the steps of the town hall to prep them for top notch confetti throwing! Here are my top tips for making the most of your confetti moment, even if you don’t have a huge guest list:
1 - Get the right confetti. If you want a major impact, the best confetti is biodegradable circle confetti. It continues to flutter in the air, and really stands out in your photos compared to the smaller dried flower confetti. Buy more than you think you need, you can never have too much, and we can always grab more than one type of confetti shot.
2 - Empty your confetti cones. Before your throw the confetti, put it in your hand first. By taking the confetti out of its cones or packets, you can really give it a good throw into the air rather than trying to shake it out the packet in time to meet the couple.
3 - Remember: up and over! Do not be tempted to throw confetti at face-level, it will go directly in their eyes and faces, causing the couple to screw up their faces, get it in their mouths etc which trust me, does not make for good photos! Instead, give the confetti a generous ‘up and over’ movement. It helps the confetti flutter further, and your couple will thank you for helping them get the best photos of this quick moment.
ROMANTIC WEDDING PORTRAITS AT MARYLEBONE TOWN HALL
After group photos, I love to allow my couples to have some quiet and romantic moments together against the grand and elegant backdrop of the town hall alcoves and steps. It is such an iconic and timeless place to get married in London. My couples love to embrace this time, making the most of being dressed-up in their special outfits, and making some unforgettable moments together. Champagne spray I hear you ask? Absolutely!
Giving gentle guidance rather than forced and stiff poses when taking your portraits, my couples personalities and relationship really becomes clear in a natural yet romantic and editorial style.
I think Maribel and Jason truly epitomise this.
