Chic London Elopement at Old Marylebone Town Hall | Jeannine and Henry
EDITORIAL MICRO-WEDDING IN LONDON
Jeannine and Henry’s chic elopement at Old Marylebone Town Hall is a shining example of what intimate London wedding photography can be! Full of joy, their favourite people, and a little city romance.
Jeannine grew up in Chelsea, and was inspired by her own parents marriage held at Old Marylebone Town Hall. An American couple, their loved ones joined them for a special day to celebrate their legal ceremony ahead of a party back home in the States later this year.
London is such a special place to get married, full of life and light , surprisingly easy to find chic backdrops for photographs, and some of the yummiest food you can find for your post-ceremony dinner!
A RELAXED MORNING WITH FAMILY
Jeannine got ready at the Carlton Towers, Chelsea hotel with her mum, giggling over a light lunch and having their hair and makeup done. They were soon joined by Jeannine’s sister and closest girlfriends, queue lots of bubbly, cheeky Polaroids, and all the excitement! Following my advice, Jeannine had collated her special details such as her stationery, rings, shoes and perfume for me to photograph.
THE CEREMONY
Jeannine’s parents live in Chelsea, and had their wedding ceremony at the incredible Old Marylebone Town Hall, so their day was ringing with a sentimental and truly personal atmosphere. Henry joked with his loved ones while he patiently waited for his favourite person in the world to arrive.
Jeannine was escorted down the aisle by her father who was such a calm presence, and I don’t think you can hide his pride as he walked upto his new son-in-law with his beloved daughter.
WEDDING PHOTOS AT OLD MARYLEBONE TOWN HALL
Old Marylebone Town Hall will always be one of my absolute favourite London wedding venues. It has that beautiful neutral stone work, the grand steps and columns, the curved alcoves. It really is an editorial wedding photographer’s dream! Getting married in a late afternoon summer ceremony meant we had the outside of the town hall all to ourselves for as long as we wanted, this was such a treat as town hall weddings often move swiftly. The sun started to peak through the columns to give us some truly spectacular light and texture to give that warm, romantic spin on photographs I love so much.
A BLACK CAB AND A POP OF CHAMPAGNE
It wouldn’t be a London wedding without a black cab right?
Following their group photos on the steps of the town hall, we hopped in a black cab and walked around Marylebone for a little chic scenery. Their guests made their way to their chosen reception so they could have some extra time together to celebrate their vows, just the two of them.
We whizzed around Marylebone and Chelsea, taking in the sights (and some traffic), allowing them to have a cheeky drink and cool down in the summer heat.
Jeannine and Henry simply beamed, completely relaxed and happy in each other’s company.
We also threw in a champagne spray moment, which looks pretty epic to me!
DINNER AT THE ITALIAN GREYHOUND
Jeannine and Henry chose The Italian Greyhound in Chelsea for some dinner and dancing with their favourite people. After a tipple or two, Jeannine changed her gown and shoes for a ‘party ready look’. I decided to mix things up abit for some portraits here and use editorial flash to give them the super cool paprazzi party look that is so on trend right now.
