Black Tie London Wedding | Tim and Adnan
EDITORIAL WEDDING IN LONDON |
MODERN CITY WEDDING STYLE
Tim and Adnan’s multi-cultural celebration was a true delight of 2022, choosing a modern and elegant black-tie theme with lots of white and green florals, their day was beautiful and relaxed.
Now based in London, Tim and Adnan wanted a celebration that truly reflected them, a place where their families could join together for the first time.
With wedding planner Rebecca Brennan-Brown on the case, their day could not have been more perfect, more personal, or more special.
GETTING READY
Tim and Adnan agreed they wanted to see each other for the first time on their wedding day at the end of the aisle. Adnan got ready with the help of his sister, overlooking Liverpool Street, before heading down to help welcome their family and guests.
Tim got ready with his childhood friends, to the soundtrack of the one and only Britney Spears. Tim was gifted a beautiful Aspinal hip flask from his girls, a true surprise. There were many, many giggles as they got ready together, so excited and full of anticipation for Tim to marry his true love.
A ROMANTIC AND PERSONAL CEREMONY
Taking place at The Andaz, Liverpool Street, the grand ballroom was the perfect place to exchange their vows. Light and modern, featuring a stunning stained glass dome, plenty of candles and a floral arch as the centre-piece, it was a truly stunning backdrop for a celebration of love. Katie from True Blue Ceremonies led the congregation with complete ease and warmth through the ceremony.
Tim and Adnan were both walked down the aisle by their parents, this was such a special introduction to the joining of their families as they proudly stood beside the couple, welcoming them into their marriage.
WHY CHOOSE A CELEBRANT INSTEAD OF A REGISTRAR?
A registrar essentially carries out the legalities for your wedding, and registrars can only provide that service at a registered and licensed venue. They are employed by the local authority/council and can conduct ceremonies in register offices or any building/space that is licensed for civil weddings.
A celebrant can lead your ceremony at any type of venue, on the beach, up a mountain, wherever! A celebrant can also completely personalise your ceremony, registrars are tied to specific legal language, and you have far less flexibility on what can be incorporated to your ceremony. If you choose a celebrant for your celebration, you can simply file your legal paperwork (marriage licence) at your local council at a time leading up to your wedding, instead of paying a registrar to come to your wedding.
WHAT WAYS CAN YOU PERSONALISE A CELEBRANT LED WEDDING?
Celebrants are incredibly creative and clever with what they do, they truly get to know you as a couple, and can help put together a ceremony that reflects you and your life together.
Tim and Adnan chose to recite personal vows, and their celebrant Katie led the guests into a ‘Ring Warming Ceremony’. This is where the wedding rings are passed around the guests, each guest holds the rings in turn and blesses them with well-wishes for the couple. This was such a sweet way of involving guests during the ceremony, and gave Tim and Adnan some time to sit together and reflect on their marriage.
THE PORTRAIT SESSION
Being in the heart of central London, we decided to go for a quiet wander of the local streets, to take ten minutes for them to just be together. Your wedding portraits are meant to be relaxed, fun, romantic, and a space for you to be yourselves. I will give you gentle guidance throughout so you know where to stand, what do do with your hands, but in a way that feels completely effortless and natural with an elegant and sophisticated style.
A CANDLE-LIT RECEPTION
The ballroom was filled with white flowers and candles for an intimate and elegant reception. Tim and Adnan were welcomed into the room as newly-weds to rapturous applause from their guests, as the speakers blared the totally appropriate ‘Love On Top’ by Beyonce. Speeches were full of laughter and kind words for the couple.
IT’S A PARTAYYYYY!
With such a stunning floral arch created by Pesh Flowers and a gorgeous cake by Simons Bakery, myself and wedding planner Rebecca decided to combine the two for a truly stylish ‘cut the cake’ moment. We pulled more flowers and candles from the tables to enhance the space and lead the way for the PARTAY!
Tim and Adnan took to the floor for a short first dance together, before joining in to a playlist full of their faves. The dance-floor was absolutely popping, you couldn’t wipe the smiles from everyone’s faces as they took the celebration into the night!
