The Ritz wedding photography | Amber and James wedding at The Ritz, London
When you think of The Ritz, what comes to mind? The grandest of grand afternoon teas, opulent interiors, a sumptuous and unforgettable experience. Amber and James completely changed their original pre-pandemic wedding plans for a bigger guest list after two postponements; ultimately deciding instead to put all their budget into an incredible day with their nearest and dearest by hosting an unforgettable wedding celebration at The Ritz in London.
Both Amber and James looked like complete and utter royalty, especially when having their portraits by the sweeping staircases and iconic sign of The Ritz.
The morning
The day started with Amber getting ready with her mum and best girls in their suite, with the prettiest bathroom I think I have ever seen! Amber gave her girls each a gift with a hand-written note to thank them for being her bridesmaids, a lovely slice of the morning filled with giggles and a few glasses of Ritz champagne. Amber chose to do a first look for her mum and girls by walking down the grand staircase of The Grand Hall, it was a beautiful moment of excitement and happiness!
The ceremony
Their religious ceremony took place in the opulent Marie Antoinette Suite, a room featuring mirrored-panelling and an incredible chandelier.
Amber walked down the aisle to meet James at the alter, accompanied by her father. James and Amber were simply so happy to see each other, to finally celebrate their day.
The details
Amber’s stunning Halfpenny London dress was the ivory Dion duchesse satin gown, accompanied with her long-flowing veil gave a simply iconic modern bridal fashion style. Amber completed her look with a delicate gold head-piece from Net A Porter, and gold Cartier jewellery. James wore his RAF military uniform, absolutely perfect from head to toe and so very smart, in the evening, he switched his look to mess dress for the party.
Their florals were a mix of white roses, hydrangeas, freesia and green ferns by Paul Thomas, florist to The Ritz. Their luxurious 6-tiered wedding cake by Hall of Cakes was decorated with the most intricate and elegant design.
The portraits
There are so many iconic spots at The Ritz for beautiful portraits. Amber and James particularly loved the staircases and the Long Gallery. We also simply couldn’t go to The Ritz and not snap some portraits of the iconic sign outside Piccadilly at night when those lights really popped against the dark sky.
