Romantic St Giles House Wedding
ELLA AND SANTINO’S PEACH FLORAL WEDDING AT ST GILES HOUSE, DORSET
With a sumptuous colour palette of peach, orange, and green, Ella and Santino’s wedding day at St Giles House could not have been more romantic! Featuring incredible floral installations by Hollie at Blue and Boheme, and stationary created by bride Ella herself to complement their day, this was a truly elegant wedding full of romantic details.
St Giles House, a 400 year old, 5,000 acre country estate is steeped in history, which has been lovingly restored in recent years to host weddings. Featuring exclusive use with on-site accommodation near the New Forest, St Giles House has to be one of the most incredible, luxury venues to get married at in the UK.
Just wait until you see the nightclub in the basement….
THE MORNING PREPARATIONS WITH ELLA
Ella got ready with her mum, Santino’s mum, and her girls in the stunning Japan Room in the main house. Featuring a stunning illustrated wallpaper, and four-poster bed, this was the perfect scene for them to share a glass of bubbly, and get ready together.
SANTINO GETTING READY WITH THE BOYS
In the Riding House of the estate, Santino got ready for the day with the boys including his father and Ella’s father, fixing their ties and cufflinks, before walking over to the main house to greet the guests. Santino chose a checked wool suit with grey tie, with the boys of the wedding party matching.
THE CEREMONY IN THE GREAT DINING ROOM
Featuring exposed brickwork and fine-art portraits of the Shrewsbury Family, the Great Dining Room truly gave a sense of atmosphere for Ella and Santino’s ceremony.
With a stunning meadow floral installation by Blue and Boheme, the scene for their vows could not have been more beautiful. Music by string trio Halo Strings. Ella had designed a newspaper for their guests featuring their story, and order of the day, a personal touch for guests as a keepsake.
Ella was accompanied down the aisle by her father, with Santino and his best men waiting to greet her.
WEDDING PORTRAITS AT ST GILES HOUSE, DORSET
Although the weather was fairly stormy the day of their wedding, the rain held off just long enough for Ella and Santino to have some much desired portrait time in the beauty of the grounds of St Giles House. With the backdrop of the house itself, we went for a quiet wander just the two of them to soak in the ‘just married’ feels.
The rain soon came in, but that didn’t bother us. We decided to utilise the ceremony room with that stunning floral installation for some more portraits and group shots too. The large windows and moody weather created a truly atmospheric light and cinematic feel against the grandeur of the house itself, it simply HAD to be used again!
I always encourage my couples to have separate portraits, for the simple reason of when will you ever dress-up quite this much? When do you ever have beautiful artistic photos taken of you that aren’t a selfie? This is always done in a relaxed, private moment alongside your couple photos so you can truly be yourselves, to allow yourself a moment or two to really feel ‘omg yes, today I really do look extra special fantastic!’.
AN ELEGANT DINNER IN THE LIBRARY
Does anyone else remember that scene in Beauty and the Beast where Belle discovers the library?! This room gave me those feels for sure! Lined with classic, beautiful books, the library was an intimate space for an elegant dinner.
The floral centre-pieces featured light and dark peaches, whites, light pinks, and greenery, prefectly completmenting the tones of the room, with accompanying green velvet chairs and peach placeholders for each guest.
As the light of day began to fade, the tapered candles transformed the space from bright and joyful, into a dreamy and romantic autumnal evening among the backdrop of laughter and happy tears during speeches.
“THERE’S A NIGHTCLUB IN THE BASEMENT??!?”
Following a relaxed and joyful first dance together to ‘No Letting Go’, Ella changed into her party dress for a ‘night out’ with their guests in the basement nightclub! Seriously, how many wedding venues have a night-club?!
Ultimate cool points! We took the opportunity for some editorial flash couple photos before they completely let loose and partied the night away….
