Hollywood Glam Wedding at The Old Royal Naval College, Greenwich
JORDANA AND RICHARD’S SUPER CLASSY WEDDING AT
THE OLD ROYAL NAVAL COLLEGE.
What happens when a modern day Barbie, die-hard Swiftie marries her lover? It looks a bit like this. The wonderful Jordana and her lovely Richard finally celebrated their marriage at The Old Royal Naval College in Greenwich this September. Against the jaw-dropping backdrop of the Painted Hall, with a soft coral and peach pallete, and a twist of Hollywood glamour, this was an incredible celebration filled with love.
Enjoy these curated highlights from their day with mix of 35mm film and digital.…
you will also find a sprinkling of Taylor Swift lyrics to pay homage to my girl Jordana ;-)
JORDANA GETTING READY
‘Best believe I’m still bejewelled when I walk in the room,
I can still make the whole place shimmer’
-BEJEWLLED, Taylor Swift
A Taylor Swift playlist of course lilted through the air as Jordana got ready to marry her Richard. A fellow shoe-lover, I just knew Jordana would bring the most gorgeous and sentimental details to her day. Her custom Emma Beaumont Atelier dress gently glistened behind her as her make-up was finessed, with the most beautiful soft pink Manolo Blahnik shoes and that stunning engagement ring to finish her look. Alongside details, emotions are my calling and I love looking for the gestures and looks between you as you get ready.
Before Jordana got into her dress, she shared champagne and giggles with her bridesmaids. And finally, the look on her dad’s face when he saw her for the first time brought tears to my eyes.
RICHARD AND THE BOYS
‘You know I love a London boy
I enjoy nights in Brixton, Shoreditch in the afternoon’
- London BOY, TAYLOR SWIFT
‘Relaxed but make it fashion!’ was the vibe for Richard and the boys. Richard got ready with his younger brother and best friends, and goodness me did they bring some fun to their prep! The boys suggested some GQ editorial vibes, and they absolutely revelled in their little fashion moment, taken by my fantastic friend and second photographer Lisa Devlin. I absolutely adore it when the boys feel just as special and gorgeous as the girls and embrace their time on camera. You can feel the delicate balance of emotions in these, the anticipation as Richard puts on his tie and jacket, and then the excitement among them all together as they cheers a whiskey.
A FIRST LOOK & PRIVATE VOWS
‘I'll spend forever wondering if you knew
I was enchanted to meet you’
- ENCHANTED, TAYLOR SWIFT
From Richard’s lovely speech at dinner, it was pretty clear he was awestruck when he first met Jordana at work all those years ago. It is also pretty clear that feeling has never gone away. They were utterly enchanted by each other, like they had seen each other for the first time again.
Their first look and private vows was so special, a moment just for the two of them before the rest of their celebration. There were some tears, but so much laughter too. I love that you can see Richard taking a deep breath, filled with excited nerves to see his bride, and Jordana simply beaming from ear to ear, knowing in just a moment, all her dreams will come true.
I highly recommend a first look, especially if your timeline is tight or for winter weddings, you can make the most of your time together in the light before it gets dark; it also means you have already seen each other before the ceremony which can quell some of those nerves when all eyes are on you. It also means that after your ceremony, it’s pure celebration time knowing that your portraits are taken care of too!
A PARTY BEFORE THE PARTY
‘I want your midnights
But I'll be cleaning up bottles with you on New Year's DaY’
- NEw YEAR’S DAY, TAYLOR SWIFT
One thing I highly recommend for your wedding, is to carefully select your party members! They will not only be there to help you in the morning, but they will be right beside you during your ceremony with a tissue, and ready to bring that party vibe! Jordana and her girls, and Richard and his boys brought that spirit to their group photos, bringing them to life. I love giving you group photos that have some fun and movement to them.
A CEREMONY IN THE PAINTED HALL
‘Can I go where you go?
Can we always be this close forever and ever?
And ah, take me out, and take me home (forever and ever)
You're my, my, my, my
Lover’
- LOVER, TAYLOR SWIFT
The ultimate Taylor Swift fan, there could be no other song for Jordana to walk down the aisle to, then Lover by Taylor Swift. Beautifully played by my faves at Chiqas Music, the swelling strings against the grandeur of the Painted Hall, was a truly iconic wedding moment. Richard’s face was a picture as he saw Jordana walk down the aisle. A true testament that despite having a first look together, the emotions of that moment can never be replaced.
The light was a dream as Jordana and Richard shared their legal vows and exchanged rings, their ceremony looks like a Renaissance painting! I just love how they brought the energy to the room, cheering with their guests, and sharing a dipped kiss Hollywood moment as they walked down the aisle a married couple.
WEDDING PORTRAITS AT OLD ROYAL NAVAL COLLEGE
‘I like shiny things, but I'd marry you with paper rings
Uh huh, that's right’
- PAPER RINGS, TAYLOR SWIFT
While their guests chatted and sipped champagne, Jordana and Richard decided to escape for a few more portraits before dinner. Jordana’s dress with its delicate front split and Richard’s black tux, they looked like had just walked off the Hollywood red carpet! Going for a wander in the grounds of your venue is my favourite way to help you relax into your portraits. No posing, no fuss, just you two enjoying some time together before the party really gets started. With the dramatic architecture of the Old Royal Naval College, it was the perfect place for some elegant portraits. As the evening light started to fall and gave a beautiful warm glow around them, giving a romantic quiet moment for these lovely two.
A CANDLELIT RECEPTION IN THE PAINTED HALL
‘It feels like a perfect night
For breakfast at midnight’
- 22, TAYLOR SWIFT
Have you ever seen a wedding breakfast in a more palatial setting? Jordana and Richard could not believe their eyes as they walked back into the Painted Hall, all set for their first meal as a married couple. The candlelight set the tone for a relaxed and beautiful dinner, followed by some of the most touching speeches I have ever heard (followed by more laughter!).
PARTY LIKE IT’S 1989
‘You can hear it in the silence, silence, you
You can feel it on the way home, way home, you
You can see it with the lights out, lights out
You are in love, true love
You are in love’
- YOU ARE In LOVE, TAYLOR SWIFT
Following some sparklers with their bridal and groom parties, Jordana changed into the cutest bridal mini dress I have ever seen by Emma Beaumont Atelier, and a little cheeky shoe change to some Sophia Webster numbers too of course! They danced the night away, the sheer joy on their faces. They partied like it’s 1989, as Taylor might say….
